Without a doubt, the Los Angeles Lakers will be one of the teams on everyone's microscope this year. They are the defending champion after all and expectations are high for a potential repeat this upcoming NBA season. One of the returning members of last year's squad who's expected to be on a short leash is Kyle Kuzma.

The 25-year-old has been on the receiving end of criticisms the past few seasons. As the Lakers continue their success, a lot of doubt has been thrown towards the former All-Rookie First Team member.

On Wednesday, Kuzma was rather nonchalant about what's expected of him this campaign, telling Dave McMenamin of ESPN: “I don't know, we'll see.”

But it's no surprise that his teammates want to continue to build Kuzma's confidence and make sure he knows that he's more than needed. In fact, Anthony Davis is quite certain that the struggling forward will have a huge 2020-21 season.

“It's going to be a big year for him. He's going to play a bigger roles for us this year. And we need him to continue to do what Kuz do.”

Davis' recent comments echo that of LeBron James' prediction that Kuzma will have a breakout stint this season. By now, it's clear that Kuzma is wanted by the Lakers and that both LeBron and AD have complete faith in him.

Kyle Kuzma has been in trade talks for the past two seasons, with some observers even saying he's become more expendable now because of the emergence of Talen Horton-Tucker.

Kuzma averaged career lows of 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists last season.
