Los Angeles Lakers superstar big man Anthony Davis isn’t bothered by the negative reaction he got after requesting a trade from the New Orleans Pelicans this past season.

Pelicans fans obviously turned on Davis after his trade request went public. Pelicans coach Alvin Gentry said Davis is a good kid who got bad advice from the wrong people.

Davis, officially introduced as a Laker on Saturday, says he has a great team around him which makes it easier to make tough decisions like requesting a trade.

“As long as I can sleep at night and live with the decisions that I made, then I’m happy and I don’t really care what anyone else thinks,” Davis said. “I have a great team around me who I can talk to about things that’s going on, and they give me great advice and at the end of the day I’ll live with the decisions I make.”

Anthony Davis actually helped the Pelicans by requesting a trade. New Orleans was able to get a substantial haul from the Lakers in return for AD instead of losing the All-Star for nothing in free agency next summer.

One thing is clear: Davis is going to be serenaded with cheers from fans of the Lakers and booed when he makes his return to New Orleans. At this point, Davis is just happy to be in LA next to LeBron James and compete for a championship.
