Anthony Davis is coming to the Smoothie King Center as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday, and the former New Orleans Pelicans star knows he's going to face a hostile environment.

Davis admitted over the weekend that “it's hard not to think about” this upcoming matchup, per The Athletic's Bill Oram, even with a game against the San Antonio Spurs looming on Monday night. The Lakers star knows that this game won't only be big for Pelicans fans, but also for the group of Pelicans youngsters who were involved in the blockbuster trade this past summer: Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and Josh Hart.

Davis thinks those guys are going to be out for blood after being constantly criticized in recent years:

“It’s two-folded,” Davis said. “It’s going to be me (against the) Pelicans, and then the three guys (Ball, Ingram and Hart), if they play, against the Lakers. So it’s going to be a great battle. Those guys are going to try to take our heads off just to prove a point.”

Davis has been successful with the Lakers so far. They stand atop the West with a 14-2 record. Davis is one of the team's stars, averaging 25.5 points 8.8 rebounds, and 3.6 assists, and they're looking like a legitimate title contender.

Meanwhile, Ingram looks like he'll be in contention for the Most Improved Player award. The forward is averaging 26.1 points, 7.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists while shooting 50.6 percent from the field and 45.9 percent from 3-land. The Pelicans have stumbled out to a 6-11 record amid a litany of injuries (including injuries to all three of these young guys, with Hart currently still out), but they have to be thrilled with Ingram's development into a star.
