Los Angeles Lakers superstar big man Anthony Davis looked a lot like Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in practice on Wednesday.

Davis, who was inadvertently poked in the eye by Michael Carter-Williams during Saturday's scrimmage against the Orlando Magic, wore protective eyewear in practice. The resemblance is uncanny:

Before Lakers fans get excited, Davis told reporters he doesn't anticipate having to wear the eyewear in Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers, though he acknowledged how “different” it felt to don the glasses.

It was still fun to see the Chicago native throw it back to the old days when he used to wear glasses on the court:

The Lakers' first seeding game is on Thursday against the Clippers, the team most pundits believe will challenge them for the Western Conference crown. While the Clippers went 2-1 against the Lakers before games were suspended in March, Davis and Co. won the latest matchup. While there was some doubt about Davis' status, he fully plans to give it a go.

Before the 2019-20 season was suspended in March, Davis was playing at an MVP level for the Lakers. The All-Star was averaging 26.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.4 blocks per game as LeBron James’ partner in crime in Los Angeles. Davis was also shooting 51.1 percent from the field, 33.5 percent from beyond the arc and 84.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Once the 2020 playoffs start, the Lakers will be one of the favorites to win the title with LeBron and Davis leading the charge.
