It was not a complete surprise that the Denver Nuggets were able to finally notch a win against the Los Angeles Lakers in the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday. After all, they have been playing really well, and it's hard to deny that they deserved a victory. The most shocking development in the evening, however, is how Lakers superstar Anthony Davis grabbed a career-low two rebounds in 43 minutes of action.

When asked about his poor performance on the boards on Tuesday, Davis seemed pretty dumbfounded himself:

“Have to do a better job on the glass personally. I can't have two rebounds for an entire game,” Davis said, via Harrison Faigen of Silver Screen & Roll. “I mean, there's not really much I can say. I just have to do better.”

What a time for Anthony Davis to have the worst outing of his career in terms of rebounding. He didn't even have a single rebound entering the fourth quarter. It comes to no surprise that the Lakers were completely destroyed by the Nuggets on the boards, 25-44. Talk about a discrepancy on the boards.

Davis did score 27 points on 9-of-17 shooting, so it wasn't a completely terrible outing for him. Nonetheless, his lack of aggressiveness on the board undoubtedly had a significant impact on how this game turned out.

The Nuggets have now cut the series deficit to 2-1. They will get a chance to tie it on Thursday when these two teams take the court again in Game 4. A win for L.A., however, puts them in a prime position to make their first trip to the NBA Finals in a decade.
