Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis was quick to credit LeBron James following his Game 2 heroics in the Western Conference Finals.

It wasn't LeBron who assisted Davis' game-winner or anything, but it was his vote of confidence that allowed AD to thrive in these types of situations.

After L.A.'s 105-103 Game 2 victory against the Denver Nuggets, Davis recounted a similar situation he was in not long ago.

“Right before the hiatus against the Brooklyn Nets,” Davis recalled, via NBA.com. “Same spot, slightly different play, and I missed the shot. I was upset with myself, and [LeBron] said, ‘Man we're gonna live or die with you shooting that shot.'”

The Lakers lost that game against the Nets, but Davis clearly redeemed himself against Denver here.

LeBron James is the leader of this Lakers team, and there is no doubt that the way he motivated and continues to motivate Anthony Davis has had a tremendous impact on his play throughout the season. Surely, LBJ has had this same approach and effect not only on his superstar teammate but also on the rest of the team.

LA was outstanding yet again on Sunday, as they held off a furious fourth-quarter run by the Nuggets. Denver was on the brink of winning this game after Nikola Jokic's go-ahead basket in the dying seconds. The Lakers had one final possession with the shot clock turned off, and it ultimately ended with Davis winning the game for his team in the most heroic way possible.

Game 3 is slated for Tuesday night, with the Lakers now just two wins away form securing their place in the NBA Finals.
