Los Angeles Lakers forward Kyle Kuzma recently inked a three-year, $40 million contract to remain with the Purple and Gold. Lakers star big man Anthony Davis also shared that the extension will also benefit Kuzma on the court and will ultimately help him find his playing form next season without the burden of worrying about a new contract, per Kyle Goon.

Davis also mentioned that Kuzma has been willing to take tough matchups on the defensive end which sacrificed his usability and productivity on the team's offensive attack. Last season, his numbers took a dip where he was limited to norms of 12.8 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.3 assists through 61 games primarily played in an off the bench role for the Lakers.

Despite his occasional struggles on the court, Kuzma still managed to find his place in the team's stacked rotation as he logged 25.0 minutes per game last season. He remained a pivotal piece for the Lakers squad that went on to have a successful postseason campaign and carried over his contributions where he appeared in 21 games and averaged 10.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 0.8 assists through 23 minutes of action on the floor.

The 25-year-old player is poised to be part of the Lakers' future as the Purple and Gold will aim to contend for the title as long as both LeBron James and Anthony Davis remain at the helm for the team.

Now rewarded with a fresh contract, Kyle Kuzma is expected by the Lakers to continue to build on his confidence over the years and take his game to greater heights moving forward.
