The Los Angeles Lakers officially introduced Anthony Davis as a new member of the team on Saturday, about a month after acquiring him in a blockbuster trade with the New Orleans Pelicans.

And how did Davis find out he was dealt?

Well, apparently, he found out on Instagram, just like 95 percent of other people in their 20s do these days.

According to Lakers beat reporter Mike Trudell, Davis was watching a movie in a Malibu hotel when he received a call from his agent (presumably Rich Paul). He actually didn't pick up his agent's first call, and when Davis returned the call, it went to voicemail.

That was when the 26-year-old took to social media to see that he had been traded to the Lakers.

Davis seemed to want to go to Los Angeles all along, and earlier this season when he requested a trade from the Pelicans, the Lakers tried to acquire the superstar big man at the February trade deadline, but were rebuffed.

Then, after New Orleans made a change at general manager, firing Dell Demps and replacing him with former Cleveland Cavaliers general manager David Griffin, the Pelicans revisited trade talks with the Lakers over the summer.

The Boston Celtics were also involved, but due to Davis' unwillingness to commit to the Celtics long term and with Paul stating that Davis would become a free agent next summer if the Celtics acquired him, Boston backed out of talks.

Los Angeles then swooped in and acquired Davis for Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and draft picks.
