Anthony Davis knows the unprecedented nature of two titans joining forces in the NBA is not one to take for granted, looking to make the best of his opportunity with LeBron James ahead of this upcoming season with the Los Angeles Lakers. In an interview with CBS Sports' Jim Hill, The Brown noted neither he nor James have played with a player of like caliber before.

“I think that I'm a very special player. I feel like I can do it all,” said Davis. “Shoot a three, I can shoot the midrange. I take pride in defense, I talk on defense and I can lead. I haven’t played with a player like LeBron and LeBron hasn’t played with a player like me before”

The combination of Davis and James would put two top-five players together on the same court, already with plenty of support pieces that will only enhance their performance on the court.

James witnessed a talent devoid roster last season, unable to get a co-star to play alongside him after several years of teaming up with other big names. The Lakers missed the postseason despite a noncommittal expectation to get there.

Davis saw no prospect to flourish with the New Orleans Pelicans and soon saw to make his way out of The Big Easy to make a move for La La Land, eventually getting traded there this summer after a rough back end to the 2018-19 season.

Both stars have had to endure some disappointment before teaming up together, but they will have to make it count to make the move worthwhile.
