Chalk up new Los Angeles Lakers power forward Anthony Davis with a case of nyctophobia.

The six-time All-Star and recent summer acquisition of the Lakers opened up about his fear of the dark during an appearance on “That's What She Said with Sarah Spain” (via Dave McMenamin of ESPN).

“TV on, bathroom light on, some light has to be on (when he goes to bed),” Davis said. “I wish I wasn't scared of the dark … I watched too many crazy movies when I was a kid and it messed me up for life.”

This is certainly surprising from Davis, who is considered as one of the premier stars in the NBA and a top-five player in the league. However, it's hard to move on from childhood traumas, and watching scary flicks certainly didn't help AD's case.

Regardless of his fear of the dark, at least Davis isn't afraid of competition and has proven time and time again that he can dominate. Davis won a national title in the NCAA with the University of Kentucky Wildcats in 2012 and won the gold medal with Team USA later that summer at the London Olympics.

Davis, with LeBron James and former Pelicans teammates DeMarcus Cousins and Rajon Rondo, will now try to win a title with the Lakers in the NBA. Here' to hoping that Staples Center has a good lighting system though.
