The Los Angeles Lakers are going to receive a much-needed boost on Friday for a crucial matchup with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Per Shams, Anthony Davis is set to return from an 18-game absence due to a foot injury.

LeBron James, who is dealing with an ankle problem, is also aiming to suit up vs. New Orleans, who is 1.5 games ahead of them at the moment in the play-in race in the Western Conference.
The Lakers have lost three in a row heading into Thursday's showdown with the Utah Jazz and sit only a half-game ahead of the Spurs for the final play-in spot. AD has missed a total of 38 games in 2021-22 because of various injuries, averaging 23.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 37 outings.

Los Angeles is undoubtedly having bad luck when it comes to health, but their inconsistencies are clear. Defensively, the Lakers struggle, and Russell Westbrook isn't exactly living up to expectations as the third star LA was hoping he'd be.
LeBron meanwhile, is playing at a ridiculous level for a 37-year-old, averaging 30.1 points per night. His latest injury is concerning though but let's hope The King can battle through and start to create some havoc alongside Davis before it's too late.
