With the news that the annual All-Star Game MVP trophy will be renamed after the late Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis knows that the competition for it will be difficult.

Bryant passed away in a tragic helicopter accident that took the lives of eight other passengers, including Bryant's 13-year-old daughter Gianna. The Calabasas, California incident has sent shockwaves throughout the sports world, and Bryant and the other passengers have been honored by various teams and players across the league.

The NBA has also done its part in remembering the Lakers great. Aside from the All-Star MVP trophy, the league also changed the format of the All-Star Game to honor Kobe Bryant. In addition, Team LeBron and Team Giannis will also be donning Kobe and Gigi's jersey numbers through their All-Star uniforms.

As for Anthony Davis, the Lakers big man is in Chicago this weekend participating in his seventh career All-Star game. In his first season in Los Angeles, the 6-foot-10 big man is averaging 26.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 2.4 blocks and 1.6 steals per game while shooting 51.7 percent from the field and 31.6 percent from deep.

The 2020 All-Star game will pit Team LeBron against Team Giannis — two teams picked by the All-Star captains. The same captains chose teams last year with Team LeBron winning 178-164 and Kevin Durant winning game MVP.

AD will play with his teammate LeBron James as a starter in the game.
