Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers is set to go through an MRI to see the severity of his Achilles injury he sustained against the Denver Nuggets on Sunday. Understandably, Lakers fans are anxiously waiting for the result. But Davis himself is remaining positive with his future hanging in the balance.

According to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Davis didn't seem too concerned about the upcoming MRI. He said after they find out the severity of his Achilles injury, then they'll “figure out the best steps.”

Chris Geeter McGee of Spectrum SportsNet reported that the 27-year-old Davis admitted he felt good entering the duel against the Nuggets. It marked Davis' first game back after missing two games this week due to an Achilles tendinosis. Things, however, turned sour as he had to leave in the second quarter and did not return.

After news broke that Davis sustained an Achilles injury, Lakers fans flocked to Twitter to express their disbelief. After all, several NBA stars like Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and the late Kobe Bryant have fallen to the dreaded injury which sidelined them for an entire year.

While LeBron James seems to be well within his prime even at Year 18, there's still a lingering fear that his body might slow down soon. As such, the ideal situation for the Lakers is a healthy Davis who could carry much of the chores while LeBron plays relatively light minutes.

But given Davis' situation, the reality is far from the Lakers' hopes and expectations. Even if AD did not tear his Achilles, he'll likely have to sit out for several games.

Aside from losing Anthony Davis to an Achilles injury, the Lakers also saw their seven-game winning streak snapped after losing to the Nuggets.
