Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis caused quite a ruckus when he teased fans about possibly joining the Chicago Bulls next season.

Davis, after all, is a Chicago native and will be one of the most coveted free agents after this season.

He addressed the lingering issue once more on Tuesday, prior to the Lakers’ 118-112 come-from-behind victory over the Bulls at the United Center. AD downplayed his earlier comments via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin.

“It’s a basketball city. You know, they’re looking for their guy,” Davis explained. “That’s all I’ll really say about it, I mean it ain't really much. They’re a good young team right now. They’re all right.”

Most pundits, meanwhile, remain skeptical about Davis leaving a good thing in LA to join a rebuilding team in Chicago. Most believe that the six-time NBA All-Star was simply just playing to the crowd when he made those comments.

The Bulls, meanwhile, certainly need all the help they can get after mediocre showings in the past few seasons.

Chicago has promising young players in Zach LaVine, Wendell Carter Jr., Lauri Markannen and rookie Colby White, but they still lack a legitimate star to build around to.

Their inexperience cost them against the Lakers, allowing LA to crawl back from a 19-point hole and steal the victory from their fingertips.

Davis had a sub-par outing against Chicago with just 15 points and seven rebounds in 31 minutes. But LeBron James picked up the slack and racked up his third consecutive triple-double performance of the season.
