The Los Angeles Lakers have been without Anthony Davis since mid-December as he continues to nurse a knee injury that's forced him to miss more than a month of action. The Lakers were hoping to get Davis back during the early part of their six-game road trip, but it looks as if they'll have to wait just a bit longer for AD's return. According to Michael Corvo, Davis will not take part in the Lakers' clash against the Miami Heat on Sunday.

Davis had been listed as questionable prior to Sunday's matchup, but as tipoff neared it became clear he would not be able to suit up. Head coach Frank Vogel told reporters that Davis would be unavailable for the game despite initially being deemed questionable, indicating there was never much of a chance that AD played against the Heat.

With Davis sidelined on Sunday, his next chance to play will come on Tuesday in Brooklyn when the Lakers take on the Nets. After that, the Lakers will face the 76ers and Hornets on back-to-back nights, before wrapping up their road trip with a matchup against the Atlanta Hawks.

Davis last played for the Lakers on Dec. 17 when he sustained the knee injury in LA's loss to the Timberwolves. The Lakers have struggled in Davis' absence, going 7-10 in the 17 games since their star power forward went down. At 23-23, the Lakers are clinging onto the seventh seed in the West. Hopefully, Davis' return can help them right the ship and claw their way back up the standings during the second half of the season.
