NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson has claimed that Los Angeles Lakers star Anthony Davis is the only player today capable of stopping Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Over the course of the 2021 NBA Finals, Antetokounmpo had his way against a durable Phoenix Suns team. The Milwaukee Bucks star posted multiple 40-plus point games en route to not only leading the team to a first NBA championship victory in 50 years but also to claiming an illustrious NBA Finals MVP win.

Many are now backing Antetokounmpo to be the new unstoppable force in the NBA today. Still, for Robertson, he believes that Davis has the best chance among all active players to contain the two-time NBA MVP winner.

During his talk with Sirius XM's NBA Radio, Robertson touched on Antetokounmpo's heroics against the Phoenix Suns and noted that Davis has what it takes to slow down the reigning NBA Finals MVP.

“I’m very happy that they didn’t get away from Giannis,” Robertson said. “When they got down two or three points, they kept going to him, and he delivered. He made some shots, some 12- or 13-foot shots that I haven’t seen him make before in a long time. If he can do that, I don’t know who can stop him. The only person, I think has the size to give him a decent chance at guarding Giannis, is A.D. from the Lakers. No one else. I don’t see any other player on defense that’s gonna be able to handle Giannis.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo has had success in going up against Anthony Davis over the past couple of years. For one, the Bucks star last faced off against Davis during a regular season clash between the Bucks and the Lakers in January. While the Lakers prevailed in the end with a narrow seven-point win, the Bucks superstar had a keen performance in the game as he scored 25 points on an astounding 64.7 percent shooting.

Whenever Giannis Antetokounmpo and Anthony Davis face-off, it certainly makes for must-watch TV considering just how competitive the two are in the painted area.
