The Los Angeles Dodgers are bestowing a high honor on Anthony Davis, as the team has decided he will throw out the first pitch as part of “Lakers Night” on Aug. 20:

The Dodgers, who will be facing the Toronto Blue Jays, are pulling out all the stops for this year's Lakers Night event. The team has even went as far as making Lakers-themed jerseys for fans, though a special ticket package was required to obtain one:

The Lakers added Davis to their roster this offseason by way of a trade with the New Orleans Pelicans. The former No. 1 overall pick should be a fine running mate to LeBron James:

“I always looked up to him,” Davis told CBS after signing with the Lakers. “As a kid, [James] and Michael Jordan were the two guys I [admired]. I didn't get a chance to watch Michael Jordan live, but I watched LeBron a lot after he entered the league and he was the guy that I looked up to.”

In his 56 appearances during the 2018-19 regular season, Davis racked up averages of 25.9 points on 51.7 percent shooting from the field (33.1 percent from beyond the arc), 12.0 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.4 blocks and 1.6 steals in 33.0 minutes per outing.
