Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Anthony Davis is “trying to play” in Tuesday night's matchup against the Indiana Pacers, despite the fact that he turned his ankle a bit in Sunday's victory over the Atlanta Hawks:

Davis, who joined the Lakers this offseason, rolled his ankle in the closing minutes of regulation on Sunday. The former No. 1 overall pick appeared to land a bit awkwardly after a layup attempt, but he remained in the game.

Davis explained what happened:

“I just wanted to finish the game,” said Davis after the Lakers grabbed their seventh consecutive win in a 101-96 win over the Hawks on Sunday, according to Kyle Goon of the Orange County Register. “Tweaked it a little bit, but just tried to play the rest of the game off adrenaline and then attend to it after the game.”

Though he rolled his ankle late, Davis finished Sunday's game with 27 points on 11-of-23 shooting from the field, 13 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and one steal in 35 minutes of action. LeBron James led Los Angeles, notching 32 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists. With the victory, the Lakers extended their winning streak to seven games.

Davis had his ankle in an ice bath following Sunday's game, but he was in good spirits. For now, he's listed as day-to-day.

Tuesday night's matchup between the Lakers and Pacers is set to tip inside Bankers Life Fieldhouse at 7:00 p.m. ET, with NBA TV having live broadcast coverage.
