Avery Bradley thinks playing with fellow elite defender Anthony Davis and the other big men of the Los Angeles Lakers will bring his defense to the “next level.”

During his stint in Boston, Bradley was one of the most feared perimeter defenders out there. He's a member of the All-Defensive First and Second Team — something that he has in common with Davis and Dwight Howard. Now, he believes having two of these defensive-minded bigs will inspire him to showcase his best lock up stance.

”I think it’s going to help me a lot,” Bradley said at media day last week, per Christian Rivas of SB Nation. “This is actually my first time since Kevin Garnett playing with some bigs that have that defensive mentality. I feel like it’s going to help me and help them.”

When he left Boston, Bradley seemingly fell out of the radar as one of the league's top defenders. Now, he has a chance to prove himself that he's still at that level. And he's more confident given that Davis and Howard are there once he gambles for a steal.

“It’s going to help my defensive game, I can go to the next level,” Bradley added. “I’m obviously going to have the back line to protect the rim so I can be solid, but every now and then take some chances on the defensive end. I feel like ultimately that’s going to help me as a player to improve on the defensive end.”

Evidently, the Lakers are one of the winners of the offseason. They were able to pick up several key guys who have a penchant for locking people up, putting them in prime position to dominate in the tough Western Conference.

The saying that defense wins championships will never get old. Perhaps, this is the Lakers' mantra moving forward.
