Los Angeles Lakers small forward Brandon Ingram and veteran point guard Rajon Rondo participated in practice on Thursday, according to Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times.
Brandon Ingram suffered a sprained left ankle against the San Antonio Spurs on Dec. 5. Rajon Rondo underwent surgery in November after breaking his hand on Nov. 14 versus the Portland Trail Blazers. Both players went to the Lakers' G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, for rehab assignments this week.
The Lakers take on the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday. Rondo told reporters he is undecided about playing, while it looks like Ingram will warm up before the game and see if he's ready to go or not.
Before spraining his ankle, Brandon Ingram was averaging 15.2 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game while shooting 47.0 percent from the field, 32.4 percent from beyond the arc and 62.6 percent from the foul line. The former No. 2 overall pick is the third leading scorer on the Lakers behind LeBron James and Kyle Kuzma.
In his first season with the Lakers, Rajon Rondo is averaging 8.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 6.5 assists. He is shooting 45.5 percent from the floor, 42.9 percent from the 3-point line and 50.0 percent from the free-throw line. Rondo broke his hand after punching the floor in frustration versus the Blazers.
The Lakers are 18-13 on the year, fourth place in the Western Conference. They are coming off a loss to the Brooklyn Nets.
