In spite of the recent struggles for the Los Angeles Lakers, there is immense hope that Brandon Ingram will become the face of the franchise.

During a recent appearance on Lakers Voices with Mike Trudell, Brook Lopez believes that Ingram is an amazing talent and that the sky is indeed the limit for the young small forward, transcription via Lakers Nation.

“I don’t see him with a ceiling at this point, honestly. For the things he’s doing at 20 years old, it’s really astonishing to watch. You see him on court and it’s one thing obviously, but just to see his work ethic and dedication to the game, it’s second to none. He’s the first one in here getting shots up, getting work in, day in and day out, every day. It’s a testament to the kind of guy he is. I think we’ve just barely begun to see what B.I. can do.”

Ingram is currently averaging 16.1 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game. He is shooting 45 percent from the field and 35 percent from the three-point line this season.

When Ingram was drafted in 2016 with the second pick, he was already compared to superstar small forward Kevin Durant for his length and ability to shoot the ball. Although it isn't clear if Ingram will match Durant's skill early on, he still has some ways to go before he is a superstar in his own right, especially since Lopez thinks his ceiling is non-existent.

The Lakers are currently 14th in the Western Conference, boasting a dismal 13-27 record. Nonetheless, the Lakers have snapped their nine-game losing streak and have won their last two games. Ingram has averaged 17.5 points in both contests. Maybe soon, Ingram can prove Lopez right by expanding on his already impressive game.
