Corey Groves, a 17-year-old Los Angeles Lakers fan who has stage four sarcoma cancer, wants to shake LeBron James' hand on Christmas — which might be his last holiday ever.

Per Kevin Connor of the Toronto Sun, Groves shared that he'll be in LA on Christmas to see the duel between the Lakers and the Los Angeles Clippers.

“Before getting sick, I would eat, sleep basketball,” Corey said Wednesday during a break in his week-long chemotherapy treatment.

“Chances are (being in L.A. for the Christmas Day game) will be my last holiday ever. I’m hoping to spread the word and maybe get LeBron’s attention so I can shake my hero’s hand.”

Groves added that his admiration for the four-time MVP is not just limited to his on-court heroics. He also loves the fact that James' outreach work for underprivileged kids.

For what it's worth, James has plenty of programs, one of which is his “I Promise School” that serves at-risk youth.

In the past, James has granted the wish of cancer-stricken fans to meet him. Peep the tweet below featuring James and a fan named Kyle Osborne who was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.

After a tireless social media campaign, Osborne was able to shake James' hands during the 2017 NBA Playoffs.

Connor has reached out to Children’s Wish Foundation regarding his desire to meet James. However, he hasn't received a callback.
