If a Los Angeles Lakers fan woke up today after an eight-year coma, his or her jaw would immediately drop after seeing the Tinseltown team's lineup. But when that particular fan reads George Karl's recent tweet, he or she would give out the Nick Young reaction without knowing about its virality.

Karl joined the throngs of people on social media after taking a hilarious jab at the Lakers.

LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony, Russell Westbrook, Rajon Rondo, Dwight Howard, DeAndre Jordan, and Marc Gasol were all in or near the peak of their powers in 2013. They were considered rivals at the time until fate led them all to Hollywood.

Today, only James and Westbrook are playing at an All-Star level. That's not a problem for the Lakers, though, as Anthony Davis, who was only a sophomore in the 2012-13 season, is already one of the best big men in the NBA.

Call them the NBA's version of The Expendables but the old heads are at a point where they've accepted their new roles and are comfortable with their own skin.

In the 2019-20 season, Rondo and Howard played pivotal roles to complement the Lakers' superstar duo in LeBron and Davis. What's stopping the rest of their title-hungry veterans from being good soldiers too, if it gives them a legitimate chance at winning a championship?

Interestingly, Anthony used to play under Karl during their time with the Denver Nuggets, giving the Kobe Bryant-led Lakers a run for their money in the 2009 Western Conference Finals.
