Just a few days after officially changing his name to Enes Kanter Freedom, the Boston Celtics veteran wants to deepen his social justice advocacies. In fact, he said he's willing to have a chat with Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James about their differences.

It's no secret that Freedom has blasted LeBron recently for his alleged silence on social issues that could hurt his brand. The Celtics center even called LBJ “disgusting.” One specific point Freedom made was LBJ has kept mum on the human rights abuses in China, where the four-time NBA MVP and the Lakers have a huge following.

With this, Freedom said he's willing to educate LeBron on the topic (via ESPN).

“Sure, I'd love to sit down and talk to him. I'm sure it's going to be a very uncomfortable conversation for him. I don't know if he's gonna want that. I'll make that really comfortable for him. I don't know if he's educated enough, but I'm here to educate him and I'm here to help him, because it's not about money. It's about morals, principles, and values. It's about what you stand for. There are way bigger things than money. If LeBron stopped making money now, his grandkids and grandkids and grandkids can have the best life ever.”

Freedom didn't stop there, as he emboldened his fellow athletes to speak out on social issues.

“I feel like it's definitely time for athletes to stand up for the things they believe in. Not just in America, but all over the world.”

Enes Kanter Freedom and LeBron James had the chance to talk during the game between the Lakers and Celtics a few weeks ago, but both sides claimed the opportunity was ignored.
