Channing Frye only got a few months to play with the Los Angeles Lakers after being traded at the deadline from the Cleveland Cavaliers, but in his short time, he was really impressed with what he saw.

During his exit interviews, he talked about his time with the Lakers, and one of the major points he hit on is how much a superstar would enjoy playing for Luke Walton in his staff.

That has to bode well for the Lakers that a veteran is giving so much praise because it is no secret that the Lakers will be going after LeBron James and Paul George.

“I’m going to say this, I think any superstar would like to play for Luke. I think he’s a players’ coach. I think when you talk about the continuity with the president, owner, GM, a lot of guys are looking for that.

“I think you’re looking for a culture, I think you’re looking for a guy who’s intense and wants to win now. I think his system is open for learning and growth.”

The Lakers are young but the growth that this team made was immense from the beginning of the season to end. Every young player on the Lakers took a step forward and the team really looks like they are just one or two superstars away from taking that next step forward.

Frye isn't under contract for next year, but he also made it clear that he would help recruit some of the superstars to Los Angeles, and that he would like to be back the team.
