The Kansas City Chiefs will parade a new-look offense in the 2018 NFL season. With quarterback Alex Smith no longer going to take snaps under center for the Chiefs plus the addition of wideout Sammy Watkins during the free agency period, Kansas City’s air attack will soon find out its new identity.

Before that, though, Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill offered to give an insight on what to expect of the Chiefs’ passing game by comparing his tandem with Watkins to another popular duo, albeit from a different sport.

In a recent appearance on SiriusXM’s NFL Radio, Hill equated the threat he and Watkins pose on the field to the way Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James and Dwyane Wade used to wreak havoc on the hard court during their Miami Heat days.

“When I think of us, I think of the LeBron and D-Wade combo all the time,” Hill said, referring to the dream team LeBron James and Dwyane Wade created on the Miami Heat from 2014-’18. “We’re always talking, we’re always trying to outdo each other. We’re always competing. We’re always trying to get the most catches at practice, things like that.

Both Hill and Watkins are capable of causing headaches to opposing cornerbacks because of their scary combination of speed and athleticism. Last season, Hill had 75 receptions and converted them into 1,183 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Watkins, who has always struggled with his health, played 15 games for the Los Angeles Rams in 2017 and recorded 593 receiving yards on 39 catches to go with eight touchdowns.

With gunslinging Patrick Mahomes taking over as the Chiefs’ starting quarterback, Kansas City has the potential to run one of the most exhilarating offenses in the NFL next season.
