Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James just suffered his first playoffs exit in the opening round, leading many to mock him and ridicule his legacy as compared to Michael Jordan. Chris Bosh, however, doesn't think it's a big deal.

Speaking with Ari Shapiro of NPR, Bosh talked about the fact that 2021 NBA Finals will not feature LeBron or Stephen Curry for the first time in a decade. The former Miami Heat star emphasized the difficulty of sustaining excellence for more than 10 years–just like what James had done over the past years–so it's something that should not be downplayed.

“Well, I mean, you know, it's not that much of an earthquake,” Bosh said on Curry and James' absence in the 2021 Finals. “We're talking about sustaining excellence for over a decade, you know? He's been in – what? – him and Steph Curry but especially LeBron, at least, went to every finals. I can't even – I lost count.

‘It's not a big deal. There have been plenty of times where I didn't even make the playoffs, you know? So I think in their case, it's just one of those things. We all are at the hands of disappointing seasons. I think for both of those guys, they would want to continue to play. But, you know, over their careers, they know what's important. And especially this one–this year was a very long, very strange year because of the cramped year last year…”

Indeed, while LeBron James' fans could no longer argue in GOAT debates that the Lakers star had never been bounced in the first round of the playoffs, it doesn't mean his accomplishments will vanish as well. He remains one of the best players the league has ever seen, and the fact that he has been the face of the league for 18 years since his arrival in 2003 speaks volumes on his sheer impact.

LeBron is a true generational talent, and he has basically changed the competition and the NBA landscape. While it may be true he is no longer as effective as he once was, the fact of the matter is he's a four-time champion, four-time Finals MVP, four-time NBA MVP and 17-time All-Star. Also, it shouldn't be discounted that he won titles with three different teams–even leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to an improbable 3-1 comeback.

As Chris Bosh said it, all greats had their fair share of disappointments, not just the Lakers star and Stephen Curry.
