The Los Angeles Lakers made a lot of noise this summer, with the additions they made to their lineup. Brook Lopez, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Lonzo Ball are just some of the notable players they brought in, but it’s no secret that they need to improve on different aspects of the game in order to make it to the playoffs again, and mark the end of their rebuilding process.
Corey Brewer knows this and understands the importance of getting better on defense. According to Serena Winters of Lakers Nation, the 31-year-old Florida product spoke about what can be expected from them on that end of the floor, and guaranteed that they will not finish 30th next season.

Brewer is entering his first full season with the Lakers as he was traded to them only last February. He is expected to be a fixture in their rotation, and provide quality minutes off the bench night in and night out. In 24 games, he averaged decent numbers of 5.4 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.0 steals in 14.9 minutes.
With the Lakers' good mix of veterans and young guns, they are geared to make a run for the postseason, however, it won't be easy as a number of teams have also bolstered their rosters. But if they prove Brewer right, it won't be surprising if they can become a winning group once again this season, and contend for the title sooner rather than later.
