Former Florida Gators standout Corey Brewer is set to to be inducted to the team's Hall of Fame, as he was part of their back-to-back national championship squads in 2006 and 2007. The ceremony for the huge honor will be on Sept. 15 at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.

His two other teammates, who are also having solid NBA careers, are among the other inductees according to Kevin Brockway of Gator Sports.

“Three players instrumental in Florida’s back-to-back basketball national titles in 2006 and 2007 highlight this year’s University of Florida Hall of Fame Class.”

“Corey Brewer, Al Horford and Joakim Noah are among inductees announced by the University of Florida F Club and Gator Boosters, Inc.”

Following his successful stint with the Gators, Brewer declared for the NBA Draft and became the seventh overall pick in 2007 by the Minnesota Timberwolves. He spent his first three-and-a-half seasons as a pro with them before getting traded, and eventually waived by the New York Knicks. He then signed with the Dallas Mavericks and even won a title with them in 2011. Brewer has since bounced around the league and played for two other teams before landing with the Los Angeles Lakers last year.

He is hoping that he has found his home with his current team, as he has played solid basketball for them in his 24 appearances last season. His induction to the Gators Hall of Fame will only build his confidence further and help the Lakers speed up their rebuilding process as one of the veteran leaders of their young lineup.
