Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James delivered another virtuoso performance in Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Miami Heat on Friday night. He tallied game-highs of 40 points and 13 rebounds, while adding seven assists and three steals. He also shot well from the field, going 6-of-9 from deep in 42 masterful minutes.

He was locked in the entire game, starting strong right from the gates with 19 points in the first half. The four-time MVP carried the Purple and Gold in the dying moments, scattering 12 markers in the fourth quarter, including nine of their last 13 points.

However, his teammates didn't deliver, especially in the endgame. Danny Green most notably missed a wide-open 3-pointer that would have given them the victory in the closing seconds.

Now, according to ESPN's Marc J. Spears, the Lakers have missed all of their shots off LeBron's passes in the clutch. Four of them were open looks, including Green's latest 3-point clunker.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis combined for 87 of the Lakers' 108 points in Game 5 or 81 percent of the entire team's scoring production. The All-Star one-two punch was 24-of-36 from the floor. As for their teammates? They only shot 14-of-46 from the field for an anemic 3o.4 percent.

Green, Kyle Kuzma and Markieff Morris are all struggling with making shots in the NBA Finals. They are only a combined 32.2 percent from the field after five games.

But despite the close defeat in Game 5, LeBron didn't put the blame on his teammates. He added they have to stay in the moment and learn from their loss in order to bounce back in Game 6 and finally close out the series.
