Damon Jones believes Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James is going to come back with a vengeance next season.

James missed the playoffs this season for the first time since his second year in the NBA during his first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Jones says LeBron is getting rest this summer, but going crazy not being in the postseason.

The Lakers probably would have made the playoffs if James didn't suffer a serious left groin injury on Christmas Day against the Golden State Warriors. LeBron missed 17 consecutive games. The Lakers went just 6-11 during that stretch and fell out of the playoff picture.

In his first season with the Lakers, James averaged 27.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists per game. The four-time MVP shot 51.0 percent from the field, 33.9 percent from beyond the arc and 66.5 percent from the free-throw line. LeBron recorded 32 double-doubles and eight triple-doubles.

Los Angeles is currently looking for a new head coach. The Purple and Gold have a big summer ahead. They will try and trade for New Orleans Pelicans star big man Anthony Davis again and sign a star player in free agency with the cap space they have.

Everyone expects James to be extra motivated next season after what happened this year.
