When the Los Angeles Lakers drafted D'Angelo Russell back in 2015, there was one interview where he was asked about the players he'd include with him in a starting five. Interestingly, his answer include both LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

Well, both LeBron and AD are already with the Purple and Gold. James signed a four-year deal with the Lakers last summer, while Davis was traded to the team just last week. Now, Russell can make that dream of his come true — sort of — if he decides to come back to LA.

There are speculations that with Magic Johnson gone, D'Lo is now more open to coming back to the team that drafted him. According to reports, the Brooklyn Nets is still his top priority, but if they end up signing Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving this summer, there will be no place for him there.

That makes the Lakers the best option for Russell.

The Purple and Gold also have their priorities this summer. They reportedly have Kawhi Leonard and Kemba Walker as their top targets in free agency; however, if they miss out on both player, they could probably shift their focus to D'Lo.

A lot of fans were upset when the Lakers traded Russell two years ago, especially since Lonzo Ball (now with the New Orleans Pelicans as part of the AD trade) didn't live up to expectations. However, their frustrations will probably be replaced by happiness if LA and D'Lo decide to reunite this summer.
