The Los Angeles Lakers were able to increase their lead to 2-0 over the Miami Heat, but they didn't come away unscathed in Game 2. After injuring his hip versus the Heat on Friday, Danny Green revealed his status for Game 3 on Sunday, per ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk.
Early in the second game of the series, Green came up hobbling after overextending during a play. The veteran shooting guard would exit the game due to sustaining a hip injury and would return in a limited fashion.
While LeBron James and Anthony Davis led the way offensively, Green was among the players who struggled to find his shot. Despite having an array of wide-open threes, Green made just one of his eight attempts for a total of three points. He would also contribute two rebounds and two assists for the Lakers.
Even though he seemed to be hobbled by his hip ailment in Game 2, Green is going to attempt to play on Sunday. Before the game tips off, Green is going to see how his body responds to his pre-game workout.
Regardless of his contributions in the scoring department, Green is a vital member of Los Angeles' roster. The North Carolina product is a formidable wing defender when he isn't spotting up in the corner for a three-point shot on offense.
On the other side of the game, the Heat are likely to be without Goran Dragic and Bam Adebayo for the second consecutive game. If Miami wants to make an improbable comeback in the series, they'll probably need to somehow muster up a win on Sunday night.
