New Los Angeles Lakers center DeAndre Jordan didn't have a hard time choosing the Purple and Gold after the Brooklyn Nets parted ways with him. After all, the chance to play alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis and contend for a championship is definitely alluring.

For Jordan, there's also the added bonus of getting to play in the place he has called home for years after being part of the Los Angeles Clippers for a decade from 2008 to 2018.

“Man, this was not a very tough decision. You always want to be in a place where you’re wanted, and a place where you have a chance to compete and contend for something,” Jordan said on choosing the Lakers, via SB Nation. “That’s a team goal, and obviously I was here playing my first 10 years of professional basketball, and so that was a good experience for me, and just to be able to be back around my family and an organization that’s ready to compete for another title is exciting for me.”

With DeAndre Jordan's mentality and being in a place where he is at peace, it couldn't get any better for the Lakers. LeBron James and Anthony Davis will certainly be ecstatic to see the former Nets big man in a good place after what has been an up-and-down couple of seasons in Brooklyn.

Also, is he suggesting he was never wanted by the Nets? Of course, there have been talks that Brooklyn didn't want to give DJ the four-year, $40 million deal they signed him with in 2019. If that is truly the case, then Jordan just has more motivation to prove himself and show the Nets what he is capable of.

Jordan is set to have a bigger role with the Lakers along with Dwight Howard after the departure of supposed starting center Marc Gasol, and by the looks of it, the 33-year-old is more than ready.
