Los Angeles Lakers center DeMarcus Cousins has had a rough past few years. The talented big man went from one of the most dominant players in the league who could potentially land a max contract to accepting a veteran's minimum this offseason.

Because of two devastating injuries, Cousins was robbed of playing at his best with both a championship and a large paycheck on the line. The Kentucky product admitted that he could see why so few teams were interested in him this offseason, even though he was just a year away from putting up All-Star level stats.

As a member of the New Orleans Pelicans, Cousins tore his left Achilles in a season where he and Anthony Davis had the team in the thick of playoff contention in the Western Conference. He was forced to undergo surgery and miss the playoffs. Then, the Golden State Warriors decided to take a chance on him and brought him into their already star-studded team.

Unfortunately, his Warriors campaign was again marred by injury. Cousins performed well in the regular season and was rewarded with his first ever playoff series. In a cruel twist of fate, he tore his left quadriceps and was forced to miss a large chunk of the 2019 postseason.

Now, it is time for Cousins to turn the page and show he still has something left in the tank. The Lakers took a chance on him, and he will be looking to make their gamble pay off in big ways.
