The NBA world is piling on Dennis Schroder after he gave up $84 million in guaranteed money from the Los Angeles Lakers. It feels like every NBA meme is about him having to take less than $6 million on a one-year deal with the Boston Celtics.

But despite the massive financial flop that Dennis Schroder endured spurning the Lakers, he wasn't the biggest loser in all of this. Instead, that title belongs to Victor Oladipo. The former All-Star had previously turned down not one, but two multi-year extensions that were offered to him by two different teams.

Oladipo was reportedly north of $100 million by the Indiana Pacers just a couple of seasons ago, even larger than what the Lakers offered Schroder. After he was traded to the Houston Rockets, they also tried to lock him up for a cool $45.2 million for two years, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Instead, he ended up signing a veteran's minimum deal with the Miami Heat. The deal was worth a little over $2 million, not even half of what Dennis Schroder got after leaving the Lakers.

We've seen huge success stories from NBA stars who bet on themselves. But Dennis Schroder and Victor Oladipo show the other side of the coin when things don't work out.
