Superman is back! Los Angeles Lakers big man Dwight Howard showed his power against the Portland Trail Blazers with a thunderous two-handed slam that broke the rim.

The dunk was so powerful that the rim bent, forcing play to stop in the second quarter so officials can fix it.

Dwight Howard's fans know that this is not the first time the big man caused a delay after almost breaking the rim. A similar incident occurred when the Lakers big man was still donning the Orlando Magic jersey.

Coincidentally, it also happened in the playoffs with LeBron James on the floor. However, the main difference was that Howard's monster slam brought down the entire shot clock.

Howard was actually a bit frustrated prior to tilting the ring. The Blazers were getting extra physical on him and he, too, retaliated. The early fouls —  which should've been no-calls upon replay — mightily frustrated the Lakers early on. Perhaps these were the motivating factors on why he slammed one hard that caused the rim to almost break.

Be as it may, the 2019-20 season has been tagged as Howard's comeback year after falling out of the radar. In his second stint with the Purple and Gold, Howard looks focused as ever. There's no denying that he's one of the greatest big men of all time. The only thing that's missing on his resume is an NBA title.
