Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard says he and superstar LeBron James have the same type of personality.

Howard never thought he'd be teammates with James since he always wanted to beat The King. However, now at a different stage of his career, Howard is looking forward to playing with LeBron and helping the Lakers win a championship this upcoming season.

“We got the same type personality,” Howard told Shams Charania of Stadium. “We love to have fun. We love to be around people. But we work hard, and I'm just happy to have somebody on my team that is the same exact way as me.”

LeBron James and Dwight Howard used to have some epic battles during James' first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers when Howard was the best big man in the league on the Orlando Magic.

James is still at the top of his game, while Howard is just trying to save his basketball career with the Lakers.

Last season with the Washington Wizards, Howard played in just nine games. He underwent a lumbar microdiscotemy in November. Howard put up 12.8 points and 9.2 rebounds with Washington. The former All-Star will back up JaVale McGee on the Lakers.

LeBron put up 27.4 points, 8.5 rebounds and 8.3 assists in 55 games last season while shooting 51.0 percent from the floor, 33.9 percent from beyond the arc and 66.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Howard and Anthony Davis figure to get a lot of wide-open looks at the basket this upcoming season playing with James, who is one of the best passers in NBA history.
