As bad as the past few years have been for him, Dwight Howard has had a stellar NBA career worthy of the Hall of Fame even.

In his years with the Orlando Magic, Dwight was regarded as the best center in the NBA. Surely, if you ask him, his dominant stretch with the Magic had to be the most fun of his career.

Apparently not. Howard recently claimed on Instagram that, in his 30 years of playing basketball, he is actually enjoying his run with the Los Angeles Lakers this season the most.

It's actually quite ironic how things have turned for Howard. His first go-round with the Lakers was an absolutely train wreck and ended on such sour terms.

Seven years later, eight-time All-Star is having a career renaissance with the franchise that once despised him.

Of course, he is no longer the 20-point and 15-rebound monster that used to rule the paint in the earlier part of the decade. His numbers are actually are far cry from that, and even from two seasons ago where he averaged 16.6 points and 12.5 rebounds with the Charlotte Hornets.

In fact, Howard is averaging a mere 6.7 points and 7.9 rebounds in just 21.7 bench minutes, while shooting 78.6 percent from the field *on just 4 shot attempts per game) on mostly dunks and easy shots at the rim.

The difference between the Howard we are seeing this year and the one we saw in years past is his maturity and acceptance of his role on the team. Likewise, over the past three seasons, the three-time Defensive Player of the Year bounced around three lottery teams.

Perhaps being part of a group that has a legitimate shot of winning the NBA championship has given Howard some motivation to get it together.
