Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard is now 16th on the all-time blocks list.

During Wednesday's win over the Utah Jazz, Howard passed George Johnson in the all-time block leaders. Next on the list is Manute Bol, who he will likely surpass in the next game or two.

All are in agreement that Howard has rejuvenated his entire career in his second stint with the Lakers. He was initially seen as a replacement center for DeMarcus Cousins who tore his ACL in the summer.

But right from the get-go, Howard exceeded all expectations. He has fully embraced his new role as part of the second unit. On offense, he no longer commands the ball in the post. Instead, he sets solid screens, rolls, and waits for the alley-oop.

On defense, Howard intimidates his opponents, blocks them, and communicates with his teammates. According to LeBron James, Howard has been nothing but great in his new role.

“Throughout Dwight’s career, he’s been a guy you bring the ball down and you throw to him in the post and everybody works off of him,” James said, per Broderick of the Los Angeles Times.  “Now he’s a screener. He’s a roller. He’s a guy who facilitates the offense if you pass it in to him. He gets the ball to the guards and he waits for his opportunities and he’s basically been great in that role. And that’s all just about growth mind-set. And that’s for the whole team.”

Indeed, it's been a spectacular year of Howard. Climbing up in the all-time blocks list is definitely a cherry on top.
