Dwight Howard and Kobe Bryant surprisingly shared a moment in Staples Center right before the Los Angeles Lakers faced off with the Atlanta Hawks.

For those unaware, the two donned the Lakers jersey before and it didn't go quite as well as expected. It even created a rift between them. However, the encounter certainly proved that they have patched things up.

After the game, Howard detailed the rare meeting with Bryant.

“I didn’t even know who it was. He slapped me on the neck and I was about to elbow him. Then he said, ‘What’s up, man. You’re playing good.’ It was cool, man. I was glad he came to the game,” Dwight said, per Mark Medina of USA Today.

It was in the 2012-13 season when Howard and Bryant became teammates. Howard was at the peak of his career while Bryant was entering the twilight hi years.

Though many expected that adding Howard to the picture to the already loaded Lakers roster would equate to immediate success, they were anything but correct.

Bryant and Howard possessed zero chemistry and it resulted to the two stars not seeing eye to eye. Howard left after just one season but the tiff between the two didn't stop there. During Howard's time with the Rockets, Bryant called him soft during a game.

In that brief encounter on Sunday, however, the two have seemingly moved on. Howard is now one of the key pillars of the Purple and Gold. More importantly, they are winning and putting on a monster defensive effort every single night.

Knowing Bryant, who's all about winning, this new reality is satisfying to him.
