In the second quarter of Game 4 between the Los Angeles Lakers and the Portland Trail Blazers, Dwight Howard and Carmelo Anthony got into a face-to-face confrontation which almost escalated.

Just under the three-minute mark of the second quarter and with the Lakers way ahead, Howard and Anthony were battling for the rebound right under the rim. They were jockeying for position when things got extra physical.

Even after a referee and the players separated them, it seemed that Howard and Anthony were hurling some choice words to each other.

The replay shows that the physicality started way before the two boxed each other out. From the looks of it, the Lakers big man was trying to plant himself right under the paint.

Carmelo Anthony — who is known to be a bull under the basket as well — was not having any of Dwight Howard's antics though.
