Los Angeles Lakers center Dwight Howard got away with a foul on Dallas Mavericks guard Seth Curry on Friday, which allowed Lakers shooting guard Danny Green to hit the game-tying 3-pointer right in front of the Mavs' bench.

After the game, Howard spoke to reporters about the play:

“What was my role in the final play of regulation? I don't know. I guess … screen,” Howard said, via ESPN. “Our team came over and said I got away with a little hold. But whatever it takes to win, we got to do.”

The Lakers are 4-1 on the season after defeating the Mavs. Howard played 27 minutes and finished with four points and eight rebounds on Friday.

The NBA announced on Saturday that Howard indeed fouled Curry. The Lakers, though, will happily leave Dallas with a win.

In his second stint with the Lakers, Howard is behaving. He hasn't been a distraction off the court and is playing his role perfectly. Howard is averaging 5.4 points and 7.2 rebounds while shooting 70.6 percent from the field in 21.4 minutes per game.

The Lakers take on the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday. LA is looking to win its fifth game in a row.
