The Los Angeles Lakers had been constantly tied to the Philadelphia 76ers for a move this offseason. But instead of it being a big splash for Ben Simmons, LA reached out to their former backup center Dwight Howard.

Dwight signed on to run it back with LeBron James & Co as LA positions themselves for another run at the title. Howard made sure to send a heartfelt message to the Sixers and their fans before he left. But not before the Lakers big man got to throw in a sly dig at ex-teammate Simmons.

ā€œTo my brothers. This year we came up short,ā€ said Howard before departing for LA. ā€œBut we had an amazing season. Thank you to the entire 76er staff. We will always be family. And Ben. Bend ya kneeeesss šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚ā€

For an infamous non-shooter in Dwight Howard to goof on your shooting form, that must sting even just a bit. The Lakers big man is obviously just fooling around, but if you check the numbers, Dwight made the same amount of triples last season (5) alone than Ben Simmons has for his entire 4-year career.

Dwight Howard now takes his happy-go-luck attitude back to the Purple & Gold. He's got one goal on his mind with the Lakers: get a damn parade.
