Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James was the recipient of some good-natured ribbing from his close pal Dwyane Wade on Friday.

The retired NBA star-turned-basketball analyst was in awe of James' late-game heroics against the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday. So much so, that Wade posted a tweet that praised The King's greatness, while also taking a shot at his age at the same time.

Dwyane Wade, of course, won back-to-back titles alongside James as members of the Miami Heat in 2012 and 2013. The Flash was likely referring to James' defensive prowess in the 2011 Eastern Conference Finals, where he shut down then-MVP Derrick Rose. Here's a clip to jog your memory:

The 35-year-old LeBron James certainly showed flashes of his 2011 self against the Clippers on Thursday. He willed his team to a stunning 103-101 win.

After struggling shooting the ball all night, James looked superhuman in the final minute, cleaning up his own miss to give the Lakers a two-point edge.

He followed that up with an amazing defensive sequence, shadowing the Clippers' two best players Kawhi Leonard and Paul George in the final possession to seal the win. LeBron finished with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists.

While he was indeed invincible in the clutch, James did show some wear and tear after the closely-contested game.

Playing in his first official game after three months, the 4-time MVP shared a video of himself struggling to get off the floor and get in the shower.

Dwyane Wade, meanwhile, definitely knows a thing or two about the struggles of getting up in age while playing in the NBA. “Father Prime” came into the league the same time as James in 2003, but eventually called it a career last season.

For sure, James followed Wade's advice and iced those knees up after that wonderful performance.
