Former Denver Nuggets head coach George Karl threw out a somewhat vague yet directed jab at Lakers forward Carmelo Anthony on Monday.

The former coach tweeted that they constantly had to stress team play with those Nuggets team, insinuating that Melo didn't prioritize that aspect of his game.

On Wednesday, Karl doubled down and got way more direct with his thoughts on the Lakers forward.

This all popped up after Melo was introduced as the newest member of the Los Angeles Lakers free agent class. Melo spoke about how much he is stressing about winning a title in his career, per Michael Corvo of ClutchPoints.

“Every year we all come into the season saying, ‘OK, we want to win a championship,’” Anthony said in his introductory press conference with the Lakers. “How hard it is to get there and to achieve that? That’s on a whole ‘nother level. That’s extremely hard, to accomplish that. I’m coming in with a championship on my mind. I think we all know that this is the one thing that I’m missing. This is the one thing that keeps me up at night.”

Those thoughts are what set Karl off and he has been on a rampage ever since ripping Melo apart.

Karl and Melo were never able to capture a title with the Nuggets but they came close, reaching the Western Conference Finals in 2009. They ultimately dropped that series to the Lakers in six games and apparently, Karl still hasn't let go of those memories or his thoughts on Melo.
