Things got heated during the clash between the Los Angeles Lakers and Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night. While the game was lopsided on the court, some action escalated off of it between Carmelo Anthony and a couple of Sixers fans.

During the middle portion of the fourth quarter, with the Lakers down by 16, Carmelo Anthony was fouled by Sixers' Georges Niang. After the whistle, Melo went straight at a couple of fans along the sidelines as the Philly crowd started roaring at the veteran losing his temper.

After the two fans were ejected from the arena, another man with courtside seats started jawing with Carmelo Anthony as well. The two had to be separated by Joel Embiid before things got out of hand.

It was later revealed what exactly the Sixers fans were saying to the Lakers star that got him so heated, via report from Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes.

Sixers fan that was ejected for taunting Los Angeles Lakers star Carmelo Anthony kept calling him a “boy” and yelling “get in the corner boy” and “keeping shooting boy,” league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Carmelo Anthony is no stranger to strong criticisms from fans. The man was the face of the New York Knicks franchise, after all. But the Lakers star certainly didn't appreciate the condescending nature of the taunts that also come with a certain animus in how the words were phrased.
