The internet is screaming right in the face of Lonzo Ball again.

The Los Angeles Lakers rookie guard hurt his ankle in Monday’s loss to the Denver Nuggets and has since been declared questionable for Sunday’s tilt against De’Aaron Fox and the Sacramento Kings.

This could’ve been just an ordinary injury report, but because it is likely going to be another missed opportunity for NBA fans to see two ballyhooed rookies in Ball and Fox, the Twitterverse is again accusing Ball of simply avoiding getting embarrassed by Fox.

This could be traced from the two’s college days. Last NCAA season, Lonzo Ball and the UCLA Bruins faced De'Aaron Fox and the Kentucky Wildcats twice: once in the regular season and another in the NCAA Tournament. While UCLA triumphed in the first meeting, Kentucky had the last laugh, sending Ball and the Bruins crashing out of the tournament in the Sweet 16 round. In both games, Fox outplayed Ball, even exposing the current Lakers guard’s defensive shortcomings by dropping 39 points in Kentucky’s win.

The two had another chance to meet in the Summer League, but Ball was sidelined with a groin injury. Plenty of fans didn’t buy Ball’s reason, as they instead stuck with their belief that Ball was too scared to face Fox.

The time will come that these two will finally lock horns in an NBA game and if anything, this could just be Ball’s ploy to get people even more excited for the Lakers’ November 22 matchup against the Kings.
