The Los Angeles Lakers are sitting pretty atop the Western Conference standings with a 20-3 slate, tied for best record in the league with the Milwaukee Bucks. Head coach Frank Vogel praised Anthony Davis' effort in their 136-113 blowout victory against the Portland Trail Blazers. He also added how the superstar big man's chemistry with LeBron James has trickled down to the entire team, per Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet.

Davis echoed the same sentiments and acknowledged how their standing as the top team in the league has given their opponents extra motivation when they play against them.

Davis and James combined for 70 of the Lakers' 136 points last night. AD finished with 39 points, nine rebounds, two steals, and three blocks, and shot 12-of-21 from the field and 13-of-15 from the free-throw line. Meanwhile, James dropped 31 points of his own and added seven boards and eight dimes.

Indeed, every team is gunning to take down the Lakers.

The superstar tandem of James and Davis has looked like a match made in heaven so far. The transition of playing alongside has been seamless and this has been the main reason for their strong start through the first quarter of the 2019-20 season.

The team, likewise, is filled with players who know their role and play it to the best of their abilities. These, along with the LBJ and AD's leadership, has transformed the Lakers into a well-oiled machine that is taking the NBA by storm.

With the way Los Angeles is playing right now, they have to be one of the favorites in the loaded West to make it to June.
