Los Angeles Lakers head coach Frank Vogel is excited about his coaching staff for the 2019-20 NBA season.
The Lakers officially welcomed several new faces to their coaching staff on Wednesday, including Jason Kidd, Lionel Hollins, Mike Penberthy, and Quinton Crawford:

During his media availability at the event, Vogel noted he is looking forward to “building a championship-caliber team” with his new co-workers:
“I could not be more excited about the group we’ve assembled,” Vogel said, per Ryan Ward of ClutchPoints. “Each of these guys brings a unique set of skills and experiences that will greatly impact the success of our players, as we look to build a championship-caliber team.”
By most accounts, the Lakers will indeed be a contender in the coming season. The pairing of LeBron James and Anthony Davis should be great, and the additions of players like Danny Green and DeMarcus Cousins gives the team an added level of experience.
The Lakers finished the 2018-19 campaign with a 37-45 overall record, which left the team out of postseason contention. Injuries played a role, to be sure, as LeBron James missed 17 consecutive games near the middle of the season due to a groin injury. Next season, however, Vogel and his staff will be looking to lead Los Angeles into the playoffs.
